About the Job:

Reporting to the Head of Product Growth, Rubrik is seeking a world-class Pricing Strategy leader to identify and drive business growth strategies across the portfolio. This lead will drive the creation of monetization strategy proposals, application of new monetization models, pricing promotions, and competitive takeouts. and  identification, and pursuit of new go-to-market growth strategies, quantitative market research and analysis, customer and field validation for innovation launches and updates at Rubrik. You will drive strategy decision approvals and ensure downstream implementation dependencies are lined up to operationalize.

This role requires strong cross-functional executive collaboration and influence along with the ability to deal with ambiguity while building and transforming for scale. This leader will have responsibilities to drive company-level initiatives. The person in this role will work across Sales, Go-to-market & Product leadership teams to prioritize routes to market and plans as we launch new innovations. They will drive and maintain the monetization strategy roadmap and work with product management and business operations teams to implement pricing and packaging changes within the product and the quote to cash systems. Finally, this leader will be responsible for driving the change management and alignment to ensure that the proposal lands successfully with the field and customers.

As Rubrik rapidly launches new innovations and expands into new markets, this role is critical to our success. A successful leader in this role will have a combination of skills across product strategy & management, customer research and market insights, business strategy, analytics, program management, communication, influencing, and collaboration.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Drive monetization strategies across services, geos, GTM programs, and routes to market
  • Define and launch monetization and go-to-market pricing and discounting strategies 
  • Work closely with leaders in the Sales, GTM, Product, and Product Ops teams to craft new packaging and pricing strategy proposals for new and existing product innovations/routes to market
  • Drive cross-sell and up-sell opportunities through bundling and enterprise buying programs (ex. ELAs) that balance portfolio-level simplification with value capture.
  • Execute pricing enablement and training content for the sales team to help best position pricing conversations with customers
  • Provide targeted in-deal support to the sales team to assist in strategic precedent-setting opportunities

 

About You (Your Impact)

You know how to drive monetization and business model strategy from a deep understanding of customers, markets and technologies. You are analytical and curious. You excel at distilling complexity into clear-cut, concise strategy, and are comfortable communicating this in written and visual form. You’re scrappy, get stuff done, and have a strong sense of ownership. You are able to cross-functionally execute on complex company-wide initiatives delivering real results with velocity. 

 

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer science, Engineering, Finance, Marketing, Business or an equivalent; MBA preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience across strategy consulting, pricing, strategic finance, corporate strategy, deal strategy & value management, ideally at a SaaS or enterprise software company with experience in servicing Channel and MSPs 
  • 5+ years in a monetization/pricing strategy role 
  • Experience using analytics and BI solutions (e.g. Tableau).
  • Ability to quickly grasp new product concepts across a variety of technologies, and consistently apply critical and structured thinking to new areas
  • Strong analytical background with experience running and analyzing large financial and customer data, including translating financial models into executive-facing content
  • Action-oriented to solve problems and get a lot done in short timeframes
  • Demonstrated leadership experience driving complex, cross-functional initiatives
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills across all levels of an organization
  • Strong passion for technical products

The minimum and maximum base salaries for this role are posted below; additionally, the role is eligible for bonus potential, equity and benefits. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the role based on U.S. location. Within the range, the salary offered will be determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

  7. Miscellaneous.  The terms of this Agreement will remain in effect with respect to any particular Confidential Information until you can document that such Confidential Information falls into one of the exceptions stated in Section 2 above.  You acknowledge and agree that due to the unique nature of the Confidential Information, any breach of this Agreement would cause irreparable harm to Company for which damages are not an adequate remedy, and that Company shall therefore be entitled to equitable relief in addition to all other remedies available at law.  This Agreement is personal to you, nonassignable by you, governed by the internal laws of the State of California and may be modified or waived only in writing signed by both parties.  If any provision of this Agreement is found to be unenforceable, such provision will be limited or deleted to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining terms remain in full force and effect.  The prevailing party in any dispute or legal action regarding the subject matter of this Agreement shall be entitled to recover attorneys’ fees and costs.
